Cosmetology

Pursuing a cosmetology career means embarking on a journey of creative expression and personal connection. It involves mastering a diverse set of skills, from intricate hair styling and precise cutting to the artistry of makeup and the science of skincare. This path demands dedication to continuous learning, as beauty trends and techniques constantly evolve. Beyond technical proficiency, success hinges on building rapport with clients, understanding their individual needs, and providing a personalized experience. A cosmetology career offers the potential for both artistic fulfillment and professional growth, opening doors to opportunities in salons, spas, and beyond.

After completing the 1500-hour training, students must pass the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board exams:

* Written Exam: Tests theoretical knowledge (Infection Control & Safety, Anatomy & Physiology, Hair Care & Services, Product Knowledge & Chemistry, Skin Care Services, Implements, Nail Services, and Ohio State Laws & Rules)

*  Practical Exam:  Demonstrates technical skills on a mannequin (client protection/Infection Control, Chemical Service applications, Skin Services, and Manicures)

The KTC Cosmetology program is approved by the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board and the Ohio Department of Higher Education.

  • Program Length: 1500 hrs / 14 months
  • Class Meets: Mon - Thurs / 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (times may vary)
