Fire and Emergency Services Instructor

Fire and Emergency Services Instructors are vital for public safety.  This 80 hr class trains first responders in essential skills, ensuring they're ready for diverse emergencies.  With expertise in firefighting, medical aid, and safety, they build competent and confident teams, ultimately protecting our communities. 

​The KTC Public Safety program is approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education.  Our programs are accredited by the Ohio Department of Public Safety #OH116.  Applicants for the Public Safety programs must meet moral, ethical, and substance use policies of the Ohio Department of Safety (OAC 4765).

• Program Length: 80 hrs / 2 months
• Class Meets: 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
• Location: Extension Campus

Enrollment Requirements

• Posses a current and valid EMS provider, Firefighter certificate and/or Fire Safety Inspector certification(s) for at least 5 of the last 7 years and may only teach in the respective discipline(s) in which a current provider credential is held.
• ​Complete the process as outlined on the Enrollment page

Funding Options

• Students may be eligible for grants or scholarships 
• Federal financial aid is  not available for programs under 600 hours
