Public Safety - Firefighter I / Firefighter II / Instructor

Firefighting has rewards from community involvement to being able to save property and lives. You can work as a volunteer and respond from your home or work in a career department and generally work a 24/48 hour schedule.

YOU WILL LEARN:
The newest science behind Fire behavior as well as applications and techniques of Firefighting.

LENGTH OF PROGRAM:
FF1 - 160 Hours
(Approx. 3.5 months)


FF2 - 84 Hours
(Approx. 2 months)
Both programs run on:  Tuesdays & Thursdays
6:00 pm -  10:00 pm
and 1 Saturday per month
8:00 am  -  4:00 pm

  • High School Diploma (transcript) or GED (transcript)
  • WorkKeys Skills Assessment (ACT/TEAS considered)

The minimum requirements for consideration in the program include:
  • Interview with the Coordinator
  • Driver's License
  • 17 years of age and in their final  year of high school

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES:
Upon successful completion of the training program(s) students are eligible to take the Ohio certification exam(s).
