Fire Safety Inspector

Fire safety inspectors play a vital role in protecting communities by ensuring buildings and facilities comply with fire codes. They conduct thorough inspections, examining everything from sprinkler systems and fire alarms to exit routes and hazardous material storage. Through detailed assessments and clear communication, they identify potential fire hazards and work with building owners to implement corrective measures, ultimately minimizing the risk of fire and safeguarding lives.

• Program Length: 80 hrs / 3 months
• Class Meets: Tues & Thurs / 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
• Location: Extension Campus

• Must hold a current Ohio Firefighter Certification to enroll
• Complete the process as outlined on the Enrollment page

Funding Options

• Students may be eligible for grants or scholarships 
• Federal financial aid is  not available for programs under 600 hours
