EMT Advanced

Emergency Medical Technician-Advanced builds upon the foundational knowledge and skills of the EMT Basic, providing a more in-depth understanding of patient care and expanded scope of practice.  This advanced training allows EMT-As to provide a higher level of prehospital care, often working alongside paramedics to stabilize and transport critically ill or injured patients. Successful completion of the program includes achieving a minimum grade of 80% on the final exam and overall course grade, which qualifies students to take the National Registry of Emergency Technicians written and practical examination. Passing these exams is required for state certification as an AEMT.

The KTC Public Safety program is approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education.  Our programs are accredited by the Ohio Department of Public Safety #OH116.  Applicants for the Public Safety programs must meet moral, ethical, and substance use policies of the Ohio Department of Safety (OAC 4765).
