Public Safety - EMT

In the Emergency Medical Services field, you provide vital life-saving skills to your community. You can progress from an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) to an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

  • Think and perform under pressure
  • Use newest techniques to help victims in emergency settings

Program length

Emergency Medical Responder - 48 hours
Basic EMT - 150 hours (3½ months)
Advanced EMT - 20
0 hours (4½ months)

After completing this program...

You will be eligible to take the National Registry exam

Enrollment Requirements

  • ​​Be at least 17 years of age and in your final year of high school
  • Complete the process as outlined on the enrollment page

The KTC Public Safety program is approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education.  Our programs are accredited by the Ohio Department of Public Safety #OH116.  Applicants for the Public Safety programs must meet moral, ethical, and substance use policies of the Ohio Department of Public Safety (OAC 4765).
