Phlebotomy

You may be the only "face" patients associate with medical laboratories. As a phlebotomist, you combine clinical skills with customer service skills, delivering compassionate care to patients.

174 hours (6 months)

After completing this program...

You will be eligible for certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (NCPT) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

Enrollment Requirements

  • Complete the process as outlined on the enrollment page
  • Medical Release
  • ​Immunizations
  • State Background Check: BCI – NO ORC – “Other—working with children and elderly” 
  • If you have lived in Ohio for less than 5 years, a Federal Background Check is also required: FBI – NCPA/VCA – “Volunteer Children’s Act”

The KTC Phlebotomy program matches requirements as established by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), and complies with competencies/essentials published by the Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institution (CLSI).  The program is approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
