Nurse Aide Training Competency and Evaluation Program (STNA)

Nurse aids are essential members of the healthcare delivery team. The STNA assists in the delivery of basic care (activities of daily living such as hygiene, feeding and activity) to clients in long-term and home care settings. The job outlook for STNAs is very good as the positions are expected to increase by 20% over the next 10 years (BLS, 2012).

76 hours (3 weeks) offered once a month
Class weekday evenings 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM Saturday classes - Clinicals 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM |
This program is NOT eligible for Financial Aid. It is eligible for the Adult Diploma Program.

The minimum requirements for consideration in the program include:
- Negative 2-step Mantoux test OR result of a negative chest x-ray
- Physician Release
- Maroon Scrubs, white shoes and a watch (watch must have a second hand)

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES:
After successfully completing the state-approved nursing aide training and testing program, nurse aides in Ohio are “state tested” through D&S Diversified. Both a written and clinical competency evaluation will be required.
